GE Blade Manufacturing Facility, South Bank
Construction of facility | This was to be a tenant development project that never proceeded. The site was taken over by SeAH Wind. The SeAH Wind development project dates are: Commencement: 01-Jul-22 Completion: 31-Dec-24 | The works involve the construction of a new monopile manufacturing facility by SeAH. This is not an STDC/Teesworks project. The land is being leased to SeAH for the purposes of the construction and operation of their facility. | STDC/Teesworks was not involved in the consenting and planning for the project. These are not matters for STDC/ Teesworks. This is a tenant project where all such assessments would be prepared by SeAH and their delivery supply chain. We are therefore not in possession of any relevant documents. |
Key Risks to Delivery | With reference to number 17…please state what is meant by this paragraph and what were the mitigation processes and delivery issues
As the Board paper states, this relates to the risks to delivery to programme. The mitigating processes include the appointment of appropriately experienced project management consultants to manage delivery of the various projects such as are covered above, the development of robust project delivery schedules and the implementation of appropriate project controls. Delivery issues on construction projects typically include the availability of construction materials, particularly long-lead items, and their potential impact on schedule. On demolition projects, the primary delivery issue has been the availability of offsite routes to market for the safe disposal of recovered waste CoMAH substances from the cleaning and decontamination of assets prior to demolition. |
